Blue feathers and diamonds swirl around chickens and roosters with a toy sailboat in the background. This collage was inspired by a childhood incident–my twin brother Glen lost his large toy sailboat in Lake Michigan (in Door County Wisconsin) when the boat floated out too far. He was very sad and hoped it would wash up after a storm but we never found it despite searching after wild storms caused towering crashing waves that tossed up logs and other debris from the depths of the Great Lake. Decades later, as an adult Glen spied the very same boat he lost in a Door County museum, fully restored with working sails. So it did wash up and someone found and saved the boat. This reminds us we should never give up hope of finding what we are looking for or have lost.
