Here we have works I have been commissioned to create and am sharing to illustrate the possibilities that await you, the potential buyer of my creations. For Laura, I created a mermaid in a bubble in the ocean with menacing tentacles and a claw surrounded by peaceful sea life; as she loves the ocean. For Karen I made a collage of her dogs Rocco and Astro set in space surrounded by constellations. A few months later Rocco passed away so she really treasures this lasting image of her beloved pup.
For Omar who was born in Cuba of a Cuban Dad and Ukrainian Mother and grew up in Dublin Ireland, I made the collage I call Cuba Via Ireland featuring elements of both influencing places and another titled Zoe The Dog Visits Cuba with his pooch at the wheel of a pink vintage car on the island where his father is from and he was born. The family was immigrating to Ukraine and had a stopover in Dublin and it was winter. A kind Irish man gave 5-year old Omar a warm coat and the family decided to stay on the Emerald Isle and opened the first Cuban restaurant there before eventually moving to Miami and opening Bella Cuba Restaurant on Miami Beach.
And for Dana I created a collage of her dog Valentina dressed in a kimono as she had recently visited Japan. She and her husband own a cabin in Colorado with a garden in a geodesic dome where they vacation with their dogs so I created the collage Colorado Cabin with Northern Lights for them which is hanging in their mountain home.
For Marc, I made a collage called The Lady and Tramp featuring his pup named Tramp, a Prince Charles Spaniel, in London with the queen strolling past and another collage featuring his cat Lakshmi he rescued from Venice Beach in L.A. with one image of the cat as a Geisha as he lived in Kyoto, Japan for a few years. He is a film screenwriter, so I included a photo of the Roosevelt Hotel and snippets of screenplays.
I made a collage for my friend Arthur Bradley Fleener of his pit bull mix dog named Hooch after visiting him in Hawaii while I was still in South Florida. Hooch was on the front deck and sunlight streaming through the slats of the railing made him look like a zebra dog and I added a small ark and a plethora of other animals as we both love all animals.
I made Warblers at Sagrada Familia for Joe, a retired micro scientist and backyard bird enthusiast and photographer with images of the birds that migrate from Wisconsin to Central America and return in spring. As this is the year the famous Antoni Gaudi basilica in Barcelona will be completed after 144 years of construction (now the tallest on the planet!) I combined the warblers and other birds with the central nave built to resemble a forest with recessed skylights with circular constellations and star swirls and an octopus tentacle that mimics a Gaudi spiral in the upper left.
I made the horse collage for “Curly” who is from Santiago Chile but works as a gaucho at the Explora resort in Chilean Patagonia and loves horses. When we were out riding my horse bucked when he hit a tree branch and almost threw me off but Curly galloped up and grabbed me and put me on his horse and hopped on my horse and we rode off safe and sound. I added flora and fauna to represent the wild beauty of Patagonia.
For Rob, I created him as an Indian Guru as he has a similar groomed white beard. I used an image of an Indian man who somewhat resembled my friend and added sunglasses. As he collects Midcentury furniture and other things from that era I added a couch, neon cactus sign and cow pitcher creating a fun portrait.
Keep in mind I am a pet portrait artist. Send a photo of your pet and I will work my best to create magic to immortalize your pet in a collage if you send me your favorite photo or photos of your pet or pets whether a cat, bird, horse, goat, dog or snake or turtle or whatever critter you adore.
