The story of Little Red Riding Hood is about a young girl and Big Bad Wolf. It is named after the hooded red cape that she wears walking through the woods to bring a basket of food to her sick grandmother.  As we all know the wolf tricks her and eats grandma and jumps in her bed disguised as granny to try and eat Little Red but she is rescued by a huntsman. It is a a cautionary tale about trusting strangers symbolizing dangers like predation and loss of innocence. It is also about survival and learning to discern appearances from reality. In my version Little Red Riding Hood is a sweet faced tiger in a red cape and rubber boots with a basket of baked goods. She stands in a magical forest with an owl and mushrooms with a pocket watch reminding us it was time to visit grandma despite the perils in the forest with the wolf lurking behind her. But I think she will survive without rescue  because she is a tiger!
