Moon Chicken Series
What, might you inquire, are Moon Chickens? Well let me share my story of driving from Singapore to Mersing, Malaysia (on the east side of the peninsula) with several friends. We departed late at night to avoid traffic and in order to arrive at Mersing at dawn to hire a fisherman and his boat to ferry us to Tioman, an island about five hours by boat.
Now you can fly there but back in the day one could only reach the remote shore by boat. On one trip we stopped for a break outside a chicken farm under a full moon. Suddenly the chickens began dancing to the music on the car radio. They rocked back and forth and hopped around, entranced by the tune and the full moon and that image is what inspired this series of collages.
