We all know the term “Cinderella story” used in reference to a situation in which a person or team of low status or importance unexpectedly  achieves great success or recognition. Cinderella symbolizes hope, transformation and inner worth by overcoming oppression as the cinder maid with the three mean and jealous stepsisters did in this fairytale with key symbols like the glass slipper (unique destiny), pumpkin carriage (magic and potential) and rags-to-riches (inner goodness revealed). The story represents themes of good vs evil, resilience,  divine grace (the fairy godmother) and overcoming hardship to to find your true self and happiness. My Cinderella collage depicts her as a determined-looking cat with a sleek hairdo topped in a tiara in a dreamy ball gown with floating swirls of pastel gauze inlaid with Indian block print designs and floral patterns. Wings replace arms to represent her rising from the hearth cinders to her destiny with Prince Charming. The mouse in the lower left foreground represents the mice that pulled the pumpkin that the fairy godmother turned into a golden coach.
