Description
Chettiars are a trading class from South India who ventured far across the oceans and came back wealthy, trading spices and other commodities thus the inclusion of the globe. I added the large passion fruit flower as it blended into the woman’s braid wrapped with jasmine garlands. The birds are for decorative contrast against the richness of the glittering saree. The big brown curls are cinnamon sticks, thus the name of my title for this collage with the addition of bones that I liked the shape of. We all come in various sizes, shapes and tones but beneath us we all have bones holding us together.
