Description

Rapunzel is a fairytale with the main character named after an edible plant called rapunzel, also known as cornflower published by the Brothers Grimm based on an early French version. In both, a pregnant wife craves the plant and is wasting away. Her husband gets caught stealing it from the nearby garden of a sorceress where there is a tower with no stairs. The sorceress says the husband can pick as much as he wants but he has to hand over the baby when it is born so for saving his wife he loses the baby girl. When the beautiful girl grows older with long blonde hair the sorceress locks her in the tower where a prince hears her singing. She lowers her braid and he climbs up. It is a tale of love conquering all as when the sorceress catches them together Rapunzel is banished into the wilderness and the prince blinded. He hears her singing again and her tears of joy return his sight and they live happily ever after. In my version Rapunzel is a giraffe with long blonde locks surrounded by plants, berries and creatures of the forest with a tower in the upper left side. She is waiting for the prince to find her.
