I found a bird nest in a stand of bamboo and after making sure it was not occupied I made use  of it in this collage. I loved the moss clinging to the carefully woven nest and sewed a blue felt egg to go into the nest along with a few small round orange charapita chile peppers that I grow. Native to Peru they flourish here in Hawaii and have a mildly hot fruity flavor perfect for the Cambodian and Thai dishes I like to cook.  I also added a dark blackish-purple hibiscus calyx also from my garden and scattered everything with a few pink flower petals. I have always been fascinated by bird nests and wanted to express the beauty and craftsmanship of these twigs of woven wonder just imagining the bird who made it, maybe a saffron finch or brown-face finch that alight on our feeder on the back deck. The felt egg completed it like a treasure in a tiny Easter basket. .
